This entire shoot was based off of feelings that many people can relate to. Feeling lost, hopeless, unsure, angry & astonished. Then there are also those moments of hopefulness & wonderment. Moments that make you realize, it’s going to be okay. I wanted to depict some of the feelings I’ve been having which I know many people can relate to in many different ways.
Allowing myself this creative freedom was a bit daunting at first because I really put my entire heart & soul into these images, as did my incredible model, Allison. We both came together through a similar experience we are having and put these emotions into our art. One of the best ways to cope, if you ask me.
Inspired by many things, this shoot stemmed off of a beautiful song “Come Back When You Can” By Barcelona. I unfortunately am not able to link the song to play in this post, so please be sure to check it out if you have the time! Amongst this song, many of my friends have supported me & guided me in the right direction. Allowing me to realize it’s okay to feel these things & showcase them in such a manner.
Enjoy.

Laura (Portland Family Photography) - Even though this was a different style for you… these are amazing and that is what matters. The light in the black and whites is CRAZY! I admire that you do mix it up and try new things vs. getting buried in ‘work’. Keep up inspiring all of us!
Tamarah - Wow, these are so touching and beautiful. I’ve recently experienced some of these same emotions and had friend’s go through some extreme loss recently… what a beautiful way to express and capture those emotions. Great job.
danielle smith - beautiful job!
Megan Bryant - These are breath-taking!
stephaniepana - Thank you ALL so very much for the kind words.

Pollockseye - I don’t know you but you portrayed such clear sadness & hurt. I’m terribly sorry for all these feelings you are sorting out & my thoughts & prayers are with you. You are beautiful & I cried through every picture. God Bless. You are an inspiration of not holding in emotion but finding a way to clear your heart through art.
jamie - Stephanie this is beautiful! I love how I can feel and actually sense what you are going through in the images. So very powerful. I think art is one of the most underrated ways to communicate our feelings these days so kudos for you for going for it!
Josephine Casanova - <3 I LOVE them. They are so raw and real. You are right, those are all emotions all of us have been through. Sending love and hugs your way.
Rhiannon - I think you did a fantastic job conveying the emotion, I love the tones and the different use of props throughout.
